3.Creative Kids in the Kitchen
With food sensitivities and allergies
With food sensitivities and allergies becoming increasingly predominant, it is even more important for parents and children to learn healthy, enjoyable alternatives.
Nutrition is very important to every person and teaching it as early as preschool years is a very good idea as this would help the children be aware of the foods they take in everyday. Lifelong healthy eating habits are shaped largely by an early exposure to sound nutrition education. The consequences of a lifetime of poor dietary choices can run the gamut from diabetes to high blood pressure to heart disease to cancers. Getting preschoolers involved in food preparation activities may create a lasting and profound positive effect on their health.
If children are taught the right kind of foods to eat then they would grow up to be healthy adults. Children who are taught nutrition early in life develop an interest in how to choose the right kind of food to eat. They would be more aware of what each kind of food they take in give them and I'm sure too that teaching them about nutrition would help them realize that the junk foods they take in wouldn't give them any nutrients.
Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Preeti Syal would share her contagious passion for optimal health and nutrition in this INTERACTIVE workshop designed to inspire kids to create deliciously healthy snacks, as well as to understand why healthy eating is important, energizing, and fun.
Includes a creative and educational discussion on digestive health from a holistic perspective and “hands on kitchen experience” for kids.
Kids will also be involved in many nutrition activities and puzzles leading to lifelong learning!

We all hear about cholesterol and how we need to lower it, but what is this mysterious thing? Cholesterol is a lipid, and it exists in our cell membranes and blood plasma. Most of our cholesterol is created by our bodies, and organs. Cholesterol is used in many of body’s functions and comes in two types: LDL (“bad” cholesterol) and HDL (“good” cholesterol). The problems with cholesterol occur when someone has abnormally high levels of LDL cholesterol and low amounts of HDL cholesterol. In this workshop we will talk about how with some simple changes, you can lead a healthy lifestyle. Also Preeti will provide you with holistic nutrition tips on how to balance your cholesterol. She will demonstrate a few dishes which can be enjoyed by people wanting to balance their cholesterol.

Menopause is a natural biological process, not a medical illness! Even so, the physical and emotional symptoms of menopause can disrupt your sleep, sap your energy and - at least indirectly - trigger feelings of sadness and loss. Menopause can be a terrible experience for a woman without intolerance from the love ones, co-workers and especially spouse. If we add these factors, menopause can be a living hell for a woman, both physically and mentally. In this workshop we will talk about how with some simple changes, you can lead a healthy menopause.
